The US has started to close Universities, and schools, Ohio just closed all schools for 3 weeks.  The NBA has canned its season and the NCAA canceled its basketball tournament with one of the NBA players already testing positive.  The state of Ohio believes that over 100,000 are infected.  

With this being said without testing how does Thailand actually know how many people can be infected or not.  Tracking the contacts can help cull the spread but eventually we will all be exposed.  Closing borders for a few weeks and keeping the population in place could help. That way a true reckoning could be had, and the true numbers of the population infected would be known.  However, I do not believe that Thailand is interested in doing this, they will continue to spread there own agenda, and create an unsafe environment here as people become sick, but the true reason is denied.

let us look at the margin: 
Let's put cost of the test at say 200 quid ~ 250 USD ~ 7.500 THB, what is the price of a testkit offered in the UK, and surely they make a good profit.
The Hospital exists already, so let us assume that price covers marginal cost and overheads.
So cost-price + 300 % profit is acceptable, provided it is a large organisation,
or is it?

In Korea they are doing mass testing to try and catch the virus at an early stage. I read the other day that a Covid-19 test in Thailand can cost up to 13,000 Baht, so some people avoid being tested. Wouldn't it be a good idea for the government to give a large budget to the health authorities and make testing free for everyone?

people who have absolutely no symptoms and absolutely no reason to be tested will get tested. waste of time energy and resources. you will overload healthcare workers for very little to no gain. not to mention people who actually do have the virus and show up to be tested will have a chance to infect perfectly healthy people who show up also. thousands and thousands of healthy people who have no logicial reason to believe they are infected show up to be tested only to get infected by the one person who actually should be there.

one of my My sister in laws lives in the UK ,she has just reported a bad cough,no testing just told to self isolate and not go to work ,if it gets really bad ,call again .
