Covid19 and Travel From North America

Featured Replies

So just a question to throw out there for people in the know.

If I was to travel to Thailand or SE Asia from North America and have a layover in Japan or China would I be subject to a 14 day quarantine?

Op. Your question seems to be irrelevant because you don’t even have a ticket and/ or exact date of travel yet. Things literally change everyday. I arrived via Hong Kong from the States Sat night. Thailand put out restrictions about self quarantine for example on Weds March 4 th, then changed rules Thursday, then changed rules Friday afternoon and then changed rules Monday and again today it seems.  So I would not base your arrival on even today’s rule if you are not arriving today. I also don’t know how you are able to book a flight from USA to mainland China either but I could be wrong on this however.

Its the Medical certificate requirement now for all nationalities being requested by specific air carriers.  Cathay Pacific as posted above says all nationalities

How far can you usually see when you're inside?

There are only 3 or 4 countries from where you need a health certificate.

If coming from the US and with a layover in China, then you can forget about Thailand.

Not sure why anyone would want to do international travel right now. The rules for any country could change from the time you take off and the time you arrive.
