Artichokes in the tropics

Featured Replies

Greetings all.

My wife and I are wanting to grow artichokes here in Thailand.

Is there a variety or is are the able to grow in this climate?  We have looked in the local markets for them but have not been able to find any.  Thanks for any information and we hope all of you have a good day.

I just stumbled across now, a bit late I know.

Have you been able to grow any artichokes in the mean time?

I've been growing a few at our place in Korat. So far, they are doing fine and I should be able to harvest the first fruit within the next 6 months (I assume). This will be their first hot season and after that their first rainy season. Fingers crossed.

Just out of curiosity, did you have to remake or fortify the soil where your artichokes stand?

Best to ya...

No, I didn't. This is the first time I'm hearing of this.
