Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Suvit Maesincee ordered the National Innovation Agency to build a telehealth system to assist in the diagnosis of people showing symptoms of Covid-19 infection.

The system will also serve patients of chronic noncommunicable diseases who must visit hospitals regularly on appointment or to receive medicines.

“The system will help answering the phone, collecting the patient's medical history, and monitor their conditions” he said. “We aim to reduce by 20 per cent the number of patients visiting hospitals, or around 750,000. It will save time and ease the burden of both patients and medical personnel”.

The telehealth system will correspond to a list of mobile applications, giving numerous options to the patients.

Participants in the project's development were Agnos, Deverhood, OCCA, CovidCareBot, Inspectra, Diamate and Pharmasafe.

The system would be available by the end of March at https://ymid.or.th/.
