Overstay! Immigration's smart car keeps rolling - 17 foreigners arrested

TNA MCOT reported that 17 foreigners have become the latest people arrested after operations conducted utilizing the BMW smart cars in the far north of Thailand.

 

Immigration chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang was at a news conference giving details about the latest misdoings of foreigners in the kingdom.

 

Operations had taken place in Chiang Saen, Chiang Rai and Sanpatong, Chiang Mai.

 

The overstaying foreigners included 5 Chinese nationals, 8 from Myanmar, three from Laos and one person referred to only as an African.

To avoid the BMW smart car, I am in the process of my annual visa. The immigration police were doing their best to keep Covid-19 at bay by taking everyone's temperature. Give it a few more months of this and they will be using real guns.

 

If your temperature is too high lead poisoning will follow quickly.

If you're on overstay better wear a face mask or can they see through maybe high tech infrared cameras?

Said yesterday these lot were despicable.

Probably 5 Chinese from Wuhan but they don't give a <deleted>

Dangerous disease running through the world and they are trying to add to the misery

These prisons are tinderboxes just waiting to ignite

They should be trying to empty them, not fill them with minor indiscretions

I don't know. If people can't do border runs and can't get letters from their embassy stating they can't go home, the Immigration Smart BMW may be going into overdrive.....and the IOs will be so proud about their exploits!

It's not as if they can put them on a flight home anymore.

Yes, and why wouldn´t they be happy for that. Their work payed off, and that will be good for the ones taking care of their visas and staying here as legals. If there is no more left, then they can not tarnish our reputation more in that area. In other words, if you do not promote staying in countries illegally and without a valid visas, then you should also be okey with that.

If your genuine there is no excuse to be on overstay,i did mine in Patts this year,because i don't have to go through the rubbish they throw at me at my local office,who are hopeless anyway i changed my adress 3 times with them still they send the letters to my ex wife's house,lucky her brother in law is Italian expat and brings them to me,now however i have no need to worry .

The Chinese , Burmese and Laotians would be indistinguishable from the local population ., so, how did the smart car know they were overstaying ?

Because someone reported them and immigration sent a carload of officers over to look at their passports.

The same as they have always done.

These BMW smart cars are like the old TV detector vans. They do not work.

Not normally at places like immigration or supermarkets...but for some strange reason Pharmacies often have signs saying to remove shoes !!!

Yeah I understand you will put me on ignore list. That´s because you are lying, and do not want to deal with the reply.

Maybe somebody else can explain who I have sentenced to death? Because this guy seems to be too afraid of standing for his own posts.
