Electricity Utility Pole Is Full What Shoud I Do?

Featured Replies

I bought a small land in Koh Samui under my thai wife's name.

My land is 100m away from public road and my land doesn't have electricity yet.

Electricity utilitiy pole are set up already along the public road.

I ask Electricity Office to install electricity meter on the nearest electricity pole but they told me that

Only 8 electricity meter could be nstall for each electricity pole.

And nearest electricity pole from my land has already 8 electricity meter set up.

It is full.

I would like to know what is the general procedure for this kind of problem?

Coud anyone give me any adivice?

I think the general procedure is when they tell you the nearest pole is full you ask them what to do.

I suspect you will have to invest in an electric pole/wire.

I suspect you don't really have to invest in anything but they might make you think you do and they will just pocket whatever they can get out of you. The service is already installed in your area so maintaining it is probably on thier nickel, and not yours.....but this is just my uninformed opinion and so does not carry the weight of the ever so many more well informed people who post everywhere on this forum.

And don't forget, I'm just a rice farmer and compost heaper.

Ask when you go to the office...they will know for sure....but......I had an estimate done by a representative of the local electric company here in the north and if I remember correctly they said it was 7,000 baht for one pole installed and this did not include the wire, only the pole and its installation. The company rep that gave us this estimate is a friend of the family so I'm sure that we got the straight price without any tea money or extra markups.
