I received a notice from C/link that I will be getting $750 placed in my bank on Thursday 23/4

Seeing as I have not been back in Aus for 2 years I don't understand the logic of the donation

I wont complain about it, just add it to my dwindling reserves

Same me just now, looks promising for a beer tonite ????

Not to be negative, but it could be a Centrelink stuffup. They have been known to have them. Don't be surprised if they ask you to pay it back later on.

I just received an alert in my MyGov account that I'd be paid $750 on 29th April.

I have been here for years and have a Thai bank account which my Age pension is paid into.

Thks cobber for  the  info very much appreciated

I will hang 5   if i get it

A roll in the hay for sure

If not

further blisters on my hands???? I have been  here for 19 yrs got Rudd.s present but i tried  to  sent a good sum of money back to Invest a couple yrs ago but my advisor of 20 yrs said  can do  but not  being a resident will have to pay huge taxs so not viable to do so i.am classed as a non resident but hold a Medicare card therefore its a mixed bag so to speak

Again i am very happy for the ones who have received the 750 smacker roo.s

good luck to them

My chances are next to Zero

All stay safe

I don't know about ATO.. I haven't had to do a tax report for many years..  Centrelink and Medicare are the ones that matter for pension and medical coverage.  After 7 years you lose residency..   and you lose medical coverage...IF Medicare finds out.   Thing is.. Centrelink is hooked up with immigration and knows everything about our coming and going... Surprisingly.. Medicare does not.. Medicare and Centerlink do not share information... if a person maintains an address in Oz and is able to use that for Medicare for correspondence & card renewal it is possible to keep a Medicare card active after losing residency.. until they find out..

I was at Centrelink office last week. There was a sign saying the $750 supplement is not payable to those living overseas - sounds like the right hand does,t know what the left hand is doing. Could well be once matters have calmed down Oz government will run some automated data mining & claw back over payments by such method as deduction.
