Guess why ?
Indeed a simple causality, as the virus was from a bat , just remain to understand if the volatile was from Chinese or a US origins.

IMHO, the Bat was the first Casualty:

when one of the devious Inventors of the virus, called in to the market on the way home;

maybe not realising he'd earlier had some sort of exposure accident at the wuhan 'skunkworks' lab.

All he had to do was pick the bat up, to see if if was good enough for the mrs to cook up that nights soup... and Exposed it.

Then instead put the bat back onto the rack, for someone else to buy

whoops

In a statement to Reuters, the U.S. CDC said the elimination of the adviser position did not hinder Washington’s ability to get information and “had absolutely nothing to do with CDC not learning of cases in China earlier.”

The agency said its decision not to have a resident adviser “started well before last summer and was due to China’s excellent technical capability and maturity of the program.”

What a load of unabashed bull excrement... And to add insult to injury, this is the same Trump administration that has repeatedly (and correctly) chastised China for delaying and obscuring the details of their own country's outbreak in the early going -- kind of like the same Trump and Co. themselves later ended up doing in the U.S.  And these are the folks who yanked the CDC epidemiologist out of China prior to the outbreak.

Quote

After the epidemic exploded and China had imposed strict quarantines, Trump administration officials complained that the Chinese had censored information about the outbreak and that the United States had been unable to get American disease experts into the country to help contain the spread.

Meanwhile, also kinda like the U.S. Surgeon General popping up over the weekend complaining that not enough Americans were taking seriously the advice to stay home and not have close contact with others...  Now why in the world would any Americans think they needed to stay home and self-isolate, especially after their president until lately had spent the prior two months loudly and incessantly claiming the whole CV outbreak was just a hyped up political attack on him by his foes....   Yeesh!!!!

What a bunch of liars, frauds and criminals who now have deaths on their hands.

You might have a bit more credibility in your comments, if you had even the remotest idea how to spell the name of the U.S. senator you're complaining about...

It almost seems Reuters is blaming America for China covering up the virus that originated in Wuhan,China. Hang on, that is exactly what Reuters is doing. Shamefull.

Shameful! It's 4 sources and  Reuters playing politics.

Like this high official said in a similar piece  .

" when people play politics in the middle of a crisis, we are all less safe.

"We are less safe because public servants are distracted when they are dragged into politics".

We’re less safe because the American people have been recklessly scared into doubting the competence of their government to help keep them safe, secure and healthy.

You think reporting the news is "playing politics"?

Do you use news sources that don't play politics in this manner?  Do you have news sources?

Your judgment of who is fit to represent the office is irrelevant. But thanks for the outrage.

This forum is open to people posting their opinions, so long as the content doesn't breach forum rules. Unfortunately trump has power which he constantly misuses such as attacks on democratic processes and Freedom of the Press. Trump also has ownership of many other negative issues including articulating misinformation regards Covid-19, even today. You're welcome to try and defend trump. However, trump has repeatedly demonstrated he is unfit to represent the Office of the President of the USA. I'll breath a sign of relief for the 'Free World" when trump is removed from power 11/20.
