I believe most of us will catch this virus in Thailand in the major cities. Hopefully the symptoms are mild but of course in some cases they won't be. I do still plan to try to avoid it but have somewhat resigned myself to catching it at some point. Plenty of pain ahead. I pray I am wrong though.

Feeling the same.

My body is ready to fight against this "invisible enemy"

After, my antibodies will keep me immune when it returns next year

No other viable option at this point

Cannot stay sequestered for months on end.

Well, at Jomtien immigration today I waited outside in a snakeing queue of 200-300 people for a little over an hour before getting into the building. The clueless IO was telling people to bunch up further, to reduce the queue's length.

Once inside, it was packed and standing room only - so too many people were being let in at once - again clueless organisation.

In short, the Thai Police either don't understand, or choose not to follow, best-practice as regards distancing and crowds.

It's not just the police or Immigration. They're emblematic of the way the whole country operates.

Please someone show me the disease progression chart for a country that announces a social distancing policy, and then does absolutely nothing to promote or enforce it.

Government told all visitors to go back home weeks ago

Should not be any foreigners at immigration other than 1 year Non-O renewals

That's likely nonsense... Different strains of the flu arrive every year. The vaccine you get this year won't work for next year's flu, because by then it's a new strain. Likely the same thing with the current coronavirus. Plus supposedly with CV, it has the potential to linger in the body after the person has recovered on the surface, and then re-emerge later with serious symptoms again. So obviously, immunity isn't helping those folks.

I made it through 21 winters in Alaska, with many people sick with the flu and several dying locally

Until the virology for this strain of corona virus is known, personally will not comment on a "potential"

Yet again as many point out, 45,000 - 60,000 die from seasonal flus in America every year (worldwide is over 0.5 million as I recall)

So , of course another "new" strain will add to that total annually going forward

Signing off, many seem to be expecting an apocalyptic culling of biblical proportions.

Have to rest and reload for several hours

Good discussions though

Appreciate the knowledge of many and well-thought out opinions and scenarios given and discussed here during this crisis.

Stay at home, wash your hands, and keep on posting

Peace

You only take identified cases and then set the death figure against those.

However, the UK chief medical adviser Sir Patrick Vallance has disclosed that the actual number of cases is ten or twenty times higher than the number of identified cases.

dont forget all the people who have died from pneumonia in thailand and other places too who werent tested therefore not counted either... impossible to know true figures specially with coverups by chinese and other govts.....

Oh, yes you can.

My only concern is if I do get it I will be in the recovered percentages and not the deceased percentages!
