There were conflicting reports on the roads in Bangkok's infamous evening rush hour yesterday.

Daily News headlined their article with a picture outside the downtown Paragon shopping center.

The Rama I road is normally jammed by 5pm but it was deserted. The shopping center is closed.

They said there was heavy traffic on Ngam Wong Wan road in the north of the city at 4.53 pm after an accident.

Lat Prao Road leading to the Rachada intersection was also jammed at 4.45 pm.

A Thaivisa reporter in the area said that Ngam Wong Wan outbound was still very busy at 5.40pm and there was plenty of traffic outbound on Pahonyothin road, one of the city's main arteries.

Many people were on the streets with mask wearing assessed at about 90% of the population.

But, like the Paragon area, the usually hectic scene on the roads outside the shuttered Lat Prao Central Plaza shopping center was all quiet.

Much of Bangkok's business is in lockdown at least until the middle of next month, notes Thaivisa.

I taught English in Japan mid 80's. Student wanted to know difference in Brit English between "I quite like it" and "I quite like it". Darn if I knew. I suggested they learn 'Murican English, as Yanks do more business with them.
