China's orders for Thai export products, especially food and agricultural items, are growing as the country witnesses a continuous decline in Covid-19 infections in recent days , said Visit Limlurcha, vice president of the Thai National Shippers' Council.

However, transportation and logistic services in the country have yet to fully return to normal, he added .

“We cannot forecast export growth in March until we have received the report on total shipments for the month. February’s export contracted by 2 per cent, but in the first two months, total export grew 1.4 per cent”.

The Trade Policy and Strategy Office’s director general, Pimchanok Vonkorpon said that Thai exports to China would expand in the second quarter, led by agricultural produce such as rice, vegetable, fruits, cassava, rubber, frozen and processed chickens and fish, and drinks.

In addition, she added that both food and medical supplies would be much-needed in European countries, where the Covid-19 pandemic was escalating.

I have been told by a few Thai people the the reason that DURIAN is such a high price now days is that the Chinesebuy all they can to ship to China,,,,,   NOW THAIs can't afford to eat their own favorite fruit.... China sure likes to flaunt their money....... And the new Gov't sure likes China's money..... I PITY the common THAI people.......

Maybe this is the reason why the locals can not now afford to buy their own rice. THINK OF YOUR OWN PEOPLE BEFORE MAKING BIG AMOUNTS OF BAHT THROUGH EXPORTS> CHINA NEVER THOUGHT OF THAILAND WHEN THEY EXPORTED COVID19.

What information are they getting , the news was there that the nr of infections was declining and that they slowely wanted to untighten some of the rules , but the last few days the nr of infections is clearly rising again so i don't think the export will go up very much the coming few months .
