If this woman is well enough to be taking selfies and posting, no sign of a ventilator or having problems breathing, WHY is she taking up a valuable hospital bed and resources ??

Its the same situation all over the world, if you are not having problems breathing , the same as the couple in the OP, you dont need to be in Hospital. They should start fining people that unnecessarily present at over crowded hospitals

I think you will find that hospitalisation is not normally a personal choice, as in choosing to stay in a hotel for your leisure.

If you are admitted to hospital, it is usually a decision of a medical doctor, or team, who decide it is necessary for the person admitted to stay there, to be supervised round the clock, by medical professionals. You do not need to be bed ridden or on a life support machine for this decision to be made for you.

tell you one thing for sure, no one has a normal cough cold or flu anymore, everyone thinks they've got Corona virus even if its diarrhea

A test for the virus, perhaps? Seems a reasonable expection after telling the hospital about their symptoms and voluntary quarantine.

There are reportedly only 1600 infected people in Thailand , not all will need hospitalization and can be sent home to recover in isolation. Thai private hospitals are run like businesses and likely to give unnecessary treatment and admissions. Although it is better than the UK where admittance seems to be a death sentence, with only 4% chance of recovery.

They are young and not in the risk group, yes it's a nasty flu but all you can do is to stay home until its over. Drink a lot of fluid and paracet for the fever.

Her husband died yesterday from the nasty flu.

Anyone presuming they can just get this, feel a bit ropey for a week, and then come out the other side with immunity and just as healthy, could end up regretting not taking it more seriously.

Scientists are researching why it kills some people, and why other people just have flu like symptoms and make a full recovery.

How would the individual know which way their body would react, unless they get the disease, and by then, it will be too late for many.
