A brilliant speech from an amazing woman. Whether you are a fan of the Royal Family or not it's pretty much impossible to ignore what a great figurehead she has been for all these years.

 

It's at times like these that I'm glad we're not a Republic. Despite all the damage Harry and Markle have done with their selfish, brattish behaviour, the Queen has kept her dignity and continues to represent the nation in the best possible way.

Comparing the present situation with WW2 is, IMO, erroneous. In WW2 people gathered together to gain strength in numbers. Now however.....................................

How many tourists actually meet the queen ? If she expired they would still come and do exactly what they do now - visit the same places, spend the same money. The history belongs to the taxpayer not a family grotesquely pampered from cradle to grave while millions live below the poverty line. ‘Her subjects’ apparently
