I think you could be right. April 9 they are locking down Pattaya, only the area containing most of 2,800 foreigners. In Phuket they are locked in too, and now making house to house visits.

haha, as we saw a) whoever was responsible for authority in the airport; police? immigration? private security firm? clearly either didn't know what they were doing, or couldn't be bothered to do what they were supposed to, or b) the citizens in question had so little respect for those in authority,  or fear of the consequences of their actions, that they did what they wanted. anarchy?

It took me a while to figure out his motive but then it clicked ... I can see why our Prime Minister Khun Prayut Chan O Cha is doing this and if you understand his position and thai politics you will figure out that it's a very strategic request.

No need for a coup, the army is already firmly in charge. The constitutional referendum after the last coup and the election that followed were both undemocratic.

 

The army will keep mismanaging Thailand for as long as they have China's backing.
