Customers with monthly passes for park-and-ride car parks at MRT stations will be refunded all days from March 26 onwards once restrictions to contain the pandemic have been lifted, the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) announced on Tuesday (April 14).

“We realise that the government’s shutdown and curfew orders during the Covid-19 situation mean users of park-and-ride buildings can no longer use the facilities,” said MRTA governor Pakapong Sirikantaramas.

“MRTA will refund holders of monthly passes for days after March 26 once the situation returns to normal.”

The MRT park-and-ride buildings normally operate from 5am to 1am the next day (varying among stations), which clashes with the government’s night-time curfew from 10pm to 4am.

The MRT’s Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line (Blue Line) offers park-and-ride facilities at Lat Prao, Lak Song, Ratchadapisek, Thailand Cultural Centre, Rama IX, Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre and Samyan stations. The MRT Chalong Ratchadham Line (Purple Line) has park-and-ride facilities at Khlong Bang Phai, Sam Yaek Bang Yai, Tha It, and Yaek Nonthaburi I stations.
