This "Get out and see how it works" mentality is being promoted by those who NEED the peons to return to work so they can continue to feed their bloated bank accounts. Here's Dr Oz talking about getting children back to school on that state TV propaganda source (direct quote): “I tell you, schools are a very appetizing opportunity. I just saw a nice piece in The Lancet arguing that the opening of schools may only cost us 2 to 3 percent, in terms of total mortality." Anybody who can support this has lost all humanity. Even ONE unnecessary death is unacceptable. 1 2

And that's a completely ridiculous premise. We're talking about a few months. That won't put everyone living in a cave etc. Absolute paranoid rubbish. "Going back to work because the curve is lowering" is the same as "The parachute has slowed our rate of descent, we can take it off now." And if wanting to save the human race above saving the stock market is "do-gooder" then color me a do-gooder. The $56B spent on professional sports in US would give everybody about $15/month for example. Spending on golf is $84B/yr.... another $22/month for everyone. I'll bet even you can see support for your position eroding. And your calculation leads you to believe that a few months of lockdown would result in cave living? This has exposed what a flimsy, fragile economy this world has. One case in point - the last crash was 40 months ago. Banks make $3 billion PROFIT every quarter. If they saved $1 billion per quarter from the PROFITS, they'd have a boatload of money. We need to re-evaluate what it is we want, not just rush back to a failing system. Bush 41 took it to $300 billion. Clinton got it to zero. Bush 43 took it from zero to $1.2 trillion. Obama halved it to $600 billion. Trump’s got it back to a trillion." BS The bill was Republican only and the Democrats wanted to also include increased funding for medical spending which Mc Connel would not support. Looks like Republicans now will include. Thus, their decisions are made through that prism. They literally want the economy as devastated as possible because they think they need it. Not bad logic, given their choice for the Democrat nominee. But as every scam to GET TRUMP, this one has a very high chance of backfiring. Blue states are generally the worse-hit. They're not going to vote for Trump anyway, so let these feral anti-Trumpers ruin their own states. Do you even read your own material? You accuse the Democrats of wanting the economy to be as devastated as possible, then actually close the next sentence with "let these feral anti-Trumpers ruin their own states". I will be watching with keen eyes on Florida‘s Governor De Santis. He was never serious about social distancing and only bowed to pressure from the public recently to issue a stay-at-home order. I remembered he stepped in when his Surgeon General spoke of the need for more social distancing. He vowed to reopen on 1st May. He better be very sure as he won the ‘18 election by a razor thin advantage. 1

And that's just a younger middle class family situation, never mind people that live hand to mouth/paycheck to paycheck. Nobody is going to do that.
