That mask ain't foolin' no one! Cops arrest suspected robber as the contents of brown envelope prove revealing

Observant police in the Bang Bua area suspected that a man loitering in front of the Kasikorn bank looked suspicious.

There was something about the mask that was out of step with the usual Covid-19 apparel.

It was very black and very long.

This guy looked up to no good.

So the Bang Bua force confronted the man to see what his reason might be for hanging around the bank.

On his person they found a brown envelope.

Not surprisingly, this piqued their interest.

Inside was a gun and ammunition.

The constabulary are working on the assumption that the man - aged about 35 - 40 - was about to rob the bank.

Investigations continued at the station.

At last, visual evidence of the fabled brown envelope.

I'm disappointed, I was hoping it would be of a more sturdy construction.

Great, let us form another committee, have a few socials, then, when it is all quiet we will ascertain that it was a misunderstanding, and that he was, in fact, practicing to be an undercover agent.

While you may think this committee business is a joke it’s not that dissimilar to what happens in Australia and I suspect some other countries.

Unless the situation has changed in recent years before a police officer and in fact many other government employees can be dismissed from their employment a similar process has to be followed.

This is notwithstanding any criminal proceedings that may be taking place.

Its called affording the employee “ procedural fairness” or natural justice.

Arrest him now  and then release him later. The other news Indicated that 8000 prisoners will be released, Thai laws are not strict enough.

And those 8000 will go straight out on the pop.

Ok, that’s very funny.
Kudos

It seems 'peeked' would be the more appropriate spelling in this case.

Loss of parking rights at the police station?

under consideration. How does a cop get 400k debt on his official wage, brown envelopes must have been considered by the bank. "How much corruption money"  "Oh about 3 times my salary",  "OK''

Thanks Steve, I understand what you are saying, but in other Countries I think they already have procedural committees in place which are staffed by neutral or non aligned people. In UK I believe it is the Police ombudsman, but I could be wrong with the title...my meaning was how can the police form a committee to investigate one of their own, it is a joke.
