A local Italian restaurant put all its tables lengthwise and only 2 chairs per table. All tables were separated by 1.5 metres so social distancing was ok. Then some stupid officials stopped wine drinking etc at 2pm. Who eats Italian food without drinking wine!

 My opinion (not an expert or specialist of any kind) - it is too early to reopen almost anything (not only places where they drink alcohol). Give those in need money from the budget and ask everybody stay home until 1 of June at least. Not a proper time to be greedy, government.

I don't mind the dying part (covid or crossing the road) its the ending up disabled or with severe health issues that scares me.

When should the bars be allowed to open again? After a vaccination is found and everybody been forced to have this? 1 more month, 2, 3, a year.....................??

Why, with new infections of only 30/day surely some restrictions an be eased, and focus moved to testing, tracking and contact tracing. At some point restarting the economy will be more important... else there will be more than 30 deaths/day from suicide and crime!

Bars being a danger in spreading the virus? ....have you seen the street markets in every soi in East Pattaya, in particular  the market in Soi Siam Country Club thats a danger in spreading  any virus there are hundreds of people shopping so close together

Because we still don't know a lot of things about the virus at the moment. So additional caution is a must.

It's pretty simple really on the 1st of May open all the other businesses in the morning and the pubs and bars can open last at about 4:00 pm thus satisfying the opening last requirement.

It started at 8 checkpoints yesterday. It seems to be working well. It is not a 'blockade'.

In case with deadly virus - yes. My opinion only.

Just can't see the bars opening for months....not that they shouldn't, but there'll be zero tourists...a few local expats and more than likely no girls....

Rents havn't been paid also....none or few Thais will have money....also...Prayuth said 5 years ago he (and his elite mates) wanted to clean these areas of hookers and drinking and have a good image of Thailand created... this is the perfect opportunity to do that.
