WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Democrats and Republicans are near agreement on approving extra money to help small businesses hurt by the coronavirus pandemic and could seal a deal as early as Monday, President Donald Trump said, despite hopes for a deal on Sunday.

SHANGHAI (Reuters) - China reported 12 new confirmed coronavirus cases on April 19, down from 16 a day earlier, with no new deaths, the country's health authority said on Monday.

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain reported 596 deaths from COVID-19 in hospitals in its daily update on Sunday, raising the country's total to more than 16,000 as a senior minister said the government's testing target remained 100,000 per day.

Stranded tourists: Russian couple sleeping under the rocks for weeks after Krabi hotel shuts them out

Study shows that Covid-19 can survive high temperatures

Dr Thiravat Hema-chudha, a senior medical lecturer at Chulalongkorn University, on Sunday (April 19) said heat of 60 degrees Celsius or higher cannot kill Covid-19 or its ability to replicate, when the virus is in a dirty environment.

Energy Ministry starts dispatching alcohol for hospitals

The Energy Ministry delivered the first batch of alcohol under its “United Power to Fight Covid-19” project to the Nonthaburi governor for hospitals in the province, aiming to distribute 2.4 million litres nationwide in 30 days.
