Doctors suspect a 68-year-old elderly man found dead in Uttaradit on Tuesday (April 21) succumbed to the heat after temperatures in the northern province hit 40 degrees Celsius.

Police found the decaying corpse of La Yooma lying in his hut. No evidence of a disturbance or robbery was discovered, and officers suspect he had been dead for a couple of days.

Sarayuth Ti-on, administration president of Khun Fang sub-district where the victim lived, said La had been suffering from various congenital diseases, including diabetes and epilepsy.

Medics said his health conditions may have left him vulnerable to the heat.

43 today in Suk felt like 53

Remember the thousands that died in France a few years ago during that summer heat wave?  That seemed almost unbelievable.  Thailand, India I can understand as that heat and humidity for weeks on end and now compounded if on lockdown.

There's a returnee from Bangkok who, due to limited space in the family home in the village, is forced to spend his isolation in similar circumstances down by the river.

Temp' was 44 C in the shade yesterday afternoon. It must be hell for him down there. Family members do, at least keep an eye on him and I give him a wave each morning as I pass by on my morning walk.

In the picture the fan is facing the wrong way. I'd be testing for Covid-19.

Moonlover, let me see if I can help you with your confusion. In the picture why is the fan pointing away from his position if it was too hot for him? Surely he would of had the fan directed at himself. Here are two links today: https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1160673-chaiyaphum-partygoer-found-dead-after-contracting-covid-19/?tab=comments#comment-15322405 and this similar aged Farang died and was tested: https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1160684-swiss-man-72-found-dead-in-kathu-home/ Why not test this man. Thailand prefers, perhaps, not to know?
