A phu yai ban (village leader) in the hills of Phu Thap Boek in Petchabun said that hail storms that hit his area yesterday were the worst in 40 years.

Jai of Region 14 said they had Covid to deal with now they had "Cohep" - it was a play on words based on the Thai word for hailstones or "luuk hep".

Region 16 phu yai ban Wanchai echoed these sentiments saying that 300 rai of cabbage and lettuce crops had been damaged after they were blanketed in white from the sheer number of hailstones.

77kaoded added in another report that 60% of many north eastern provinces were hit by summer storms yesterday.

They had a video of the storms causing damage in the Ban Nong Ian area of Mukdahan where trees and properties were hit.

A 66 year old lady called Thon Sukree was struck by lightning after going out to tend her cows.

CPR attempts to revive her failed.

Temperatures fluctuated wildly from 24 to 37 across Thailand's north east, they said.
