The Ombudsman’s Office has shut its doors for cleaning and sterilisation on May 14 and 15 after a member of staff developed coronavirus-like symptoms.

The office received a report on Wednesday evening that a Bureau of Investigation office staffer had come down with rheumatic fever. The staffer was then tested for Covid-19 in hospital and advised to spend 14 days in home quarantine. The test result will come back on Friday (May 15).

Executives have ordered ozone sterilisation of 5th floor offices, where the suspected Covid-19 case worked, and the 9th floor offices where they liaised with staff. Personnel working from home have been instructed to continue to do so and stay away from the office.

Any member of the public who wishes to file a complaint with the Ombudsman’s Office can do so by letter or by phoning 1676.
