Customer’s COVID-19 screening at 7-Eleven goes horribly wrong

 

 

 

If you have visited a supermarket or even your local 7-Eleven in recent weeks, you will no doubt have had your temperature taken and been given hand sanitizer as part of the measures introduced to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

 

However, what should have been a now routine screening for COVID-19 went horribly wrong for one unlucky woman in Thailand.

 

A video shared to Facebook shows the moment a dozy 7-Eleven staffer, rather than taking the woman’s temperature, accidentally sprays alcohol hand sanitiser in the eye of an unsuspecting customer as she tries to enter the store.

 

Immediately realising her mistake, the staffer consoles the woman, who appears to be in a considerable amount of pain.

 

The video was shared to Facebook on Friday afternoon and had already been shared more than 15,000 times in just a few hours. 

 

The condition of the woman is not known.

To top it off, the employee isn't even wearing that face shield properly.  I've noticed that more than a couple of times in my visits to the stores that are open.  

I'm not surprised it happened, they stand there for hours, temperature then sanitizer, she got mixed up with the mind numbing boredom

How about a basic first aid course. Sit the lady down, get a bottle of water, and wash out her eyes............

Also, as poster above says...........boredom.............rotate the duty every 15 minutes or so........

Soon, it will be cool to wear the shields back to front, like the baseball cap nimrods do.

Not good and I am sure it was painful, but it was just a mistake not on purpose by some young girl working there.

I am sure the woman will be OK, feel sorry for the kid employee she obviously was upset about her mistake. 

Bound to happen sooner or later. Earlier today when I went to a 7/11 the guy was just inside to the right and out of sight as you enter. Appeared out of nowhere far right of my vision and I thought I was going to be shot in the head for a moment.

It is incredibly easy to make this type of mistake and can easily result in a smack in the face for the perpetrator.

 

The sensible places have the sanitiser by the scanning station leaving the customer to use it. No danger of the employee blinding the customer.

 

Compensation paid?? I thought not.

 

This is why you get paid 300 baht a day.

Many of them are students and that is their first job.

Basically kids who can make a mistake.

They are not stupid, just inexperienced.

At the end of the video, the customer is led away to the back office. So what to you suppose happened back there if it wasn't a bit of first aid?

as they did it back in the good ole days, twas a celsius meter and at the top of it vaseline,

no alcohol was involved

7-Eleven is legally responsible for its staff. And something like this can end badly.

its quite an elaborate job to get it in, it requires a focus on the task at hand,

and this makes all the difference i think to get the job done right

After seeing the video, I have decided that it would be wise to wear swimming goggles when entering a 7/11.

I agree. I watched the video a few minutes ago after a search on youtube and just now I wanted to show it to my wife and it disappeared. Would CP hide that video for fear it might put fear into people going into 7Eleven? Make 7Eleven and rich CP/regime partner pay for the damages to the young lady. If the employee is fired for this, file a lawsuit and make CP/7Eleven pay even more.

At least she was wearing her face mask properly under the shield.
