A lot of this is wishful thinking.

Hmmm. Maybe you're right. In which case, I suspect that nice Mr Prayuth devoutly wishes he was somewhere else right now. He's about to be found out...

While I can understand people being scared! have you seen the numbers? what is there to be scared off, three times more people die every year from lightening strikes in Thailand!

Avoid the fear mongering media seems to be the best bet, though they do have an "agenda" to run with!

If the media hadn't "driven" this so hard (under instructions from?), no one would have been any the wiser!

Yawn. One more time for the slow ones at the back. Lighting strikes, and all other forms of non virus death that are used in this tired argument, do not grow exponentially. Less people have died because actions were taken. More people would have died if no action was taken. This is nothing like the dozen other causes of death regularly used to try to minimize the pandemic.

Dont worry. You can come out of your bunker as soon as this is all exposed as the sham it is. And it's sheeple, not sheep. At least learn the proper tin foil hat terminology. And throw in a Big Pharma, Big Media and George Soros and then you will be a full tin foil hat.

Mass tourism is possible with a lower baht, no covid-19 free certificates and insurance. Countries that had a large amount of tourists visiting will need to up their game to attract people back, it's going to cut throat with the economic slide. A lot of people will stay closer to home due to the situation, some people will be scared to fly, long haul may revert back to the intrepid travellers, hopefully the families with young children won't be flying long haul again.

Don't forget that flying might get expensive. If this happens then no cheap Holiday flights for the entire Family to Thailand will be available anymore.

Wrong. The same number of people will die, because everyone of working age needs to get this disease in order to develop herd immunity. Doesn't matter WHEN you get it. You must get it to get the antibodies, and that is the only way forward. Your way simply makes it take longer and causes incalculable economic destruction.

I don't believe any kind of vaccine or cure can be developed in any reasonable period of time. Shutting down the economy for years while you hope for a miracle is not justified.

If you don't want to get it, be a hermit. Lock yourself away. You have that right. But give the rest of us the same choice we give you, and stop trying to pretend that you have saved any lives. All you have done is impoverished billions.

Did you make all that up yourself or did you plagiarize it from infowars.com?

Revive?

Good luck.

Beyond dead till maybe 2021 around this time.

Domestic tourism?  I don't think so.  There's no money anywhere and property has been used as ATM's to finance vehicles all over.

Yep, dead.

Msybe a better idea to give half if thus money to the poor here in Thailand.. Pointless to expect overseas tourists for a long time yet. The other half could be spent on cleaning up the seas air rivers and land so as to promote sustainable tourism in the future.

Incorrect tourists will come back now

Yeah, if you could get around the "no international flights in" part, you'd have 14 days of relaxing quarantine after which you could try to use the privacy-shattering app from hell. I'm sure it will get revived pretty soon.

Don’t forget about Americans.  Yes, tourists do come from USA.  But would need a much lower Baht...

No thanks, the whole country is lifting with COVID-19.

And people who have 'done the numbers' have found the Chinese to be the worlds top spenders on holiday.

The whole world's tourist industry chases them but the dusty old expats in Thailand know better?

Virus spreaders, poo and wee in the streets and on trains, sometimes stink of BO, no thanks.

Something new then, that's refreshing !

Geez, there is a very easy solution to much of this.   Encourage & make it easy for people within Thailand to get on planes and get to other regions of the country to visit the mountains, the beaches, etc.  There are constantly different drummers beating different tunes.   I would take 2 trips/week if I had 100% assurance that I wouldn't get detained for 5 hours in the Krabi airport, then forced to fly back to Bangkok and spend the next 14 days quarantined is some soccer stadium........

Negative people?  Yes.

The truth though is rather negative.  It's obvious, and if you look at the long term restructuring that is going on around the world it isn't pretty.

Airlines are falling apart.  They are letting tens of thousands of people go permanently.  Not temporary.

To get foreign tourists in Thailand you need two wiling participants.  Thailand (easy), and other countries that are willing an entire economy shutting down so someone can enjoy a coctail on a beach then come back.  The latter is the problem because there are no countries, especially, especially China that will allow this.

Airlines are in discussions right now trying to figure out social distancing on planes, and they will be at best half full.  One third is more possible.  Airline tickets are going to be through the roof.

Again, until there is a vaccine things will not be the way they once were.  And the world health organization has flatly said that there would be no COVID certificates because you are not necessarily immune to it once you've had it once.  By the time they figure all this out there will probably be a vaccine anyways.

The only hope is a plausible treatment for this.  Other than that, count on a year from now talking about a vaccine.

It's not good!
