CCSA approves extension of emergency for a month

Seems like Life is almost back to normal, except for the massage shops,

bars and kareokes.  The complainers must mostly be patrons of those

establishments.

If the numbers are true at single digit or zero cases why is the emergency still needed unless the numbers arent correct .

  • Because this is not about the numbers or the virus, this is about control and the government are seeing how far they can push people before they start to push back. In reality, there is no virus relat

How about ‘Walk don’t run’. And ‘Care before catastrophe’. Or even ‘Better safe than sorry’? I know its unusual here to to have forethought, but it refreshing.

If they are really worried about the second wave then they can never re-open.  As there are almost no cases now, the difference between opening now with no cases or in 2 months with no cases is the same.  Just a matter of getting the second wave now or later

for weeks I've been reading about this second wave, is there such a thing or is it paranoia scare mongering ?

Second wave is a misleading word. When death cases goes down some say "ok, now we run out and drink". This is called a wave.

And it happened as I predicted when our dear pool opened again. 3 farangs bent down 24 bottle of Large beers after darkness. 22 pm reception told them to be more quiet, but no. 22.30 police came after a guest had called about the noise. Of course from Scandinavia never saw beer before ...

Thailand has tested relatively few people - hence their numbers are low.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - we have to wait until rainy season when the climate cools and there is an increase in respiratory cases - as is the case every year.

I can't imagine CVD19 just up and gone like a fart in the wind, there will be a 2nd wave for sure - it's just a matter of when.

However - if you're in the high risk group just take extra care. Im so tired of all this - I need to get to the beach and I want to go on holiday, and I miss my favourite restaurants.

I'm not sure how Thailand is going to cope really - to be honest, they are so gung ho and slap happy most of the time, I can't imagine this situation is suddenly going to transform them into bastions of self-discipline and religiously following rules and guidelines.

What about all the funky nightlife?? Nana and cowboy and all the hotspots? I Guess that side of life is well and truly gone!

Most Thai ppl support and understand the emergency. Just look around how positively everybody wears a mask and wash hands. There is no "boot on the throats of people". We leave that hyperbolic language better for the usa...

I would agree that most Thais are okay with wearing masks, washing hands and even the tracking app.

I don't think the Thais forced into unemployment and destitution appreciate being forced to remain out of work, though.

I don't remember 3 hour lines for people to get a meal before all of this.

1,000 Thais returned from overseas in the last two days. Some of them will be found to be positive. Not all of them obey the isolation rules.

It is still out there - just in smaller numbers

I just related to the gf that emergency extended (of course she new that already). I stated some farang on TV suggesting good idea because of Mr Covid.

Her reply......." Farang stupid. Government do so cannot mob protest "

I agree with her.

I agree with her.

But surely forcing more poverty and hardship onto people would result in mob protest??

On your way to ATM soon to pull out another wad of cash for the week?

Such a condescending nonsense comment.

Better to sh@t on the side walk than in the road, and get run down by a bus.

Fabulous 103fm was loading pick up trucks with food supplies for the food donors at 10-12 TODAY!

Drive through Pattaya at 4 or 5pm with your eyes open and you won't miss the food lines.

Glad you're doing well enough not to care, though.

CCSA approves extension of ....

... How to finish and destroy the economy of a country.

Have this Government  any plan to inyect money apart of these 5000Thb for a few people?

obviously all of the provisions in the state of emergency can't be extended as businesses are already approved to open. It would be nice for those of us stuck outside our province to be able to get home without having to quarantine for two weeks however

I did post an incorrect link, looks like you clicked it before I corrected it.

Watch the 6 day old video, it talks about what they're doing this afternoon because 10's of thousands are forced into destitution by ongoing business closures.

People dying of Covid, not many. People dying of pneumonia 11,000+ in 3 month. What’s in a name?

Agreed. Here in Michigan this radical lefty of a governor is using draconian lockdown orders as bad as Thailand’s. Probably only until election and the economy officially tanks, though.
