Total Access Communication (DTAC) has said that 1,000 of its staffs will continue working from home while all its centres can be run as usual enforcing the social distancing measure.

Nardrerdee Arj-Harnwongse, DTAC's chief people officer, said: “Our support and call centre staff can work efficiently from home, as well in offices, our recent experience tells us,” she said, adding that the role of supervisors would be changed from boss to coach for working efficiency.

According to a DTAC questionnaire, 84 per cent of staff said that they were motivated to work amid the Covid-19 crisis, while 82 per cent were pleased with their working environment.

“DTAC believes that the contentment of our staff demonstrated by the questionnaire is due to DTAC's preparation of technologies three years ago, as well as the growth mindset taught to the staff,” she added.

To control crowdedness at offices to under 30 per cent of total staff, DTAC will classify staff into three groups -- those who cannot work from home, those who can work from home sometimes, and those who can work from their home any time. This operation will start from June 1.

Nardrerdee said the company had found some limits to working from home, such as the lack of a law to protect personal information and inability to prevent some information being taken out of the headquarters.

I'm sure that's a safe bet, as the call centre staff will be at least two metres away from customers.
