Drunken Belgian Assaults Woman

The Pattaya Police arrested a Belgian man in Soi 7, Pattaya 2nd Road, on 17th April at 1.30 am, after being informed by a Miss Sasita that he had sexually molested her in public.

On arrival the police found the foreigner in a very drunken condition. He was detained by residents in that area who witnessed what happened. All that the police could get from the foreigner were mumblings that he is from Belgium and is 38 years old.

Miss Sasita who was very angry stated that she is not a bargirl. She came to Pattaya with her friends to celebrate Songkran. At the time of the incident she and one of her friends came to order hamburgers and this foreigner drove a motorbike over and parked it next to them.

He then walked over to her thinking she was a bargirl and without any warning he put his hands down the back of her jeans and attempted to aggressively caress her. She screamed for someone to help and thankfully a few local men came to her rescue and quickly put an end to his drunken assault and then called the police.

The police had to escort the foreigner back to the station and detained him for an appointment for questioning the next day when he sobered up.

I'd say it is Miss Sasita's own fault - why is she on soi 7 in Pattaya?

It's not exactly unknown that it a large open air brothel.

Can't blame the guy for everything.

Well heaps of restaurants on Soi7 and last I checked just beer bars, no brothels. Any rate what does that have to do with anything? :o

I agree. Regardless of the number of restaurants it's a red-light district and you have to expect this kinda of stuff to happen. When in Rome it's assumed you're Roman...

This attitude amazes me. I am noy familiar with soi 7, or anywhere in Pattaya actually, but I don't care where she was or what she does for a living. Sticking your hands down some girls pants on the street is not acceptable. Just because some bar girls will let you get away with it doesn't make it acceptable behavior. I only wish the people who detained him taught him that before the cops showed up.

No wonder anti farang feelings are getting stronger with guys like this around.

Female in question tourist, soi 7 home of some non-red light district establishments and food outlets. Apart from that why assume every female there offering her body or services, especially if not in or at front of these places. Myself , and hubby, friend and his(thai wife) have spent many a pleasant afternoon/early evening there with no unpleasant incidences, maybe things get worse after dark or after too many drinks.

Oops forgot to add should I, and my female friends no longer frequent Tequilla Reef, for fear we are asking for it? I do not think so.

Another sad story from Pattaya, but at the end of the day its the Thai Goverment who should enforce there laws, Pattaya is in need of a big clean up, if serton laws were enforced you wouldn't get this type of scum down there.

Laws are enforced hence the lad was arrested. Any rate proper behaviour is learned as a lil one, obviously lad wasn't brought up right and now suffers the consequences.

Patters is fine and dare say cleaning up should be done on the beach area - its need of major renovation and clean up of the water/beach alike.

yes, this is a good example of the kind of foreigner that makes thais generalize that we are all drunken groping sex-tourists. my question is, if one of the legions of she-males continues unwanted pawing after polite refusals to advances is a foreigner entitled to call the police and press charges? :o no, it's a one-way street. if you don't enforce the laws equally what kind of system is that.

I was groped by a girl on Pat Pong when I was drunk there once. Did I complain?

I'd love to see the headlines - Thai thief gropes Drunk Scottish respectable Tourist on soi pat Pong.

Of course I didn't complain or report it to the authorites - that's what happens there.

Funny how the seasoned whoremongers like to go to town on guys like this. :o

We only want respectable sober mongers in our soi, who wear a shirt and never hold hands with their pick-up in public.

I really feel sorry for the guy, it could happen to anyone.

I disagree strongly with the people who blame the woman. I'd go so far as to say it doesn't matter if the woman is 'respectable' or not.

Now, having said that, I don't think the guy should be put in jail forever either. He was a jerk and deserves some punishment--a couple nights in jail seems about right to me. If he does it again, ok, up the punishment.

If the woman suffers emotional trauma for the rest of her life, that's her choice. :o
