Hi everyone,

I would be really grateful if anyone could help me out with my problem.

I was in Thailand from May 2006 until beginning of December 2006 doing some research for university, but I was only on 2 month tourist visa and then I did some visa runs to Cambodia.

I then went bk to England early December 2006 and returned on 19th Jan 2007.

I had a 2 month tourist visa and then went to immingration and got a 30 day extension.

I am currently seeking employment, but as u may well know, job hunting is not the easiest of tasks!

So, I'm at the situation whereby my visa expires on 21st April.

Can I do a visa run to cambodia like I have done before?

Or do I need to go to somewhere with a consulate?

I'm really confused as to my options, would be really grateful if anyone could help,

Thanks in advance,

Paul

figuring out your status is no piece of cake either. if you wNT one of the boards experts to help you you should give exact date of your visa on arrival runs.

Ok, so here are the dates Blizzard.

Arrived in bkk on 2nd July 2006. had the 2 month tourist visa and then did visa runs.

Did visa run on 30th august 2006, and then again on 28th september, and then again on 24th November 2006.

Returned to england early december, returning on 21st Jan 2007. had 2 month tourist visa and then 30 day extension at immigration, so now my visa expires on 20th April 2007, i.e. this friday!

Would really appreciate any help,

Many thanks in advance

I assume visa runs are trips to border for 30 day stamp? How did you manage to stay here from 28 Sep to 24 Nov without a visa run?

If you did a run about 27 Oct that would be your six month start date so any trip from now until about the 27th of this month will result in the number of days between entry and the 27th as your permitted to stay time. You will not receive 30 days.

In this case you could proceed to a Consulate in Laos or Malaysia and obtain a tourist visa (recommended) or try to extend 7 days and then if not long enough stay a night or two outside of Thailand prior to return.

Put all of your stamps.. in sequential order..

put both stamp in date and stamp out date..

Looks to me like you might have come in 20 something Oct.. You may well run into the 6 month block if thats the case.. Much safer to get a tourist visa.

That said it would sound like Oct (if you had one) and Nov are your only visa exempt entries.. You appear under in days but borders are not being easy about passports full of stamps like yours.

Paul8888,ps let us know your situation in October .

Lopburi3 is correct in his reply.

If you did a 30day run in October it will be yr start of the six-month period.

Looks to me as though he initially had a triple entry tourist visa and on his visit this year he has only a single entry tourist visa which he has extended.

If this is the case you have two options you can do a border run and re-enter Thailand with a 30 days visa free stamp. You can still do this three times (so you'll get 90 days for 3 runs to the border) or you can go to a nearby consulate and get another tourist visa which (with extension) will also give you 90days.

Cost is probably overall about the same depending how close you are living to a border.

If you intend staying in Thailand for longer than another 3 months and if you take the visa free option then after 3 entries you must get another tourist visa.

I guess he (OP) did an overstay or forgot to mention one more visa run.

I would suggest to Paul to get Tourist visas until he has found an employer who is willing to provide him with the required paperwork for him to obtain a Non-Imm-B visa. An uphill task and close to impossible theses days though.

And most of all stay away from the 30 days visa exempt entry stamps!!!

Still not really clear what he has had in the past.

Paul. In the present climate, if you want to sleep at night, go to Laos or Malaysia and get a Tourist Visa. Not a big deal.

So sorry to be so stupid and confuse everyone!

I did a visa run on 27th October as well, sorry for the oversight.

So, I am having interviews and the sort at the moment, so is it possible for me to do one of them visa runs to the border at cambodia and get another 30 days?

Could i also do another one after that if things arent sorted out by then?

Thanks for all your replies and help, it really is appreciated very much,

Thanks very much and look forward to any more insights you may have,

Best wishes,

Paul

Six-Month period 27.10.06 to 26.4.07.

Your first re-enter date with a 30day visa exempt stamp would be the 27.4.07.

As your current visa expires on 21.4.07 you can apply for another 7day extention at any Immigration office , cost THB 1,900.- , which would bring you from 21.4.07 to 28.4.07 .

Or you apply right away for a new Tourist Visa in Laos or Malaysia.

Good Luck .

It looks that you only have about 50 days out of your 90 allowed with no visas for your entries after October 1 (27 Oct to 24 Nov then 24 Nov to early Dec).

If they count on a fixed 6 months block period, if you do a run on 20 April, you risk that they will only give you 6 or 7 days (up to the end of the 6 months period) although I think they should give you the full 30 days.

As sugested to be sure I would either get an extension of 7 days then do a run (you then will be sure to get a full 30 days) or go and get a TV.

If the border will go by the fixed 6 months block calculation your block is 27 Oct to 26 April.
