webfact
Opposition leader describes three loan decrees as a blank cheque Thailand’s opposition leader, Sompong Amornvivat, today criticized the Government’s three public borrowing decrees, likening them to a blank cheque to spend without a proper screening mechanism. Taking the floor after Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, the Pheu Thai party leader said he welcomed Thailand’s success in containing the spread of COVID-19, but said that the blunders and mismanagement by the Government in the handling of the situation, which ranged from the shortage of face masks and PPE to the confusion over the handling of Thais returning from abroad and the refusal to lift the state of emergency, despite the improving situation. Mr. Sompong said the decrees will empower the administration to borrow and spend the money at will, with insufficient checks and balances, epitomized by a loan disbursement screening committee made up of just a handful of people. Thought the junta did that anyway: Chinese submarines, South Korean fighter jets and American helicopters, all do not have a common communications network. Popular Post spidermike007
Most functional governments need an opposition to serve as a watchdog. Though the army hates it, they serve a useful function, and it is a sheer pleasure to watch them call out an army who feels they are above the laws of the land. Go Sompong go! You are doing the people of the nation a great service, each and every time you call out Prayuth. If anything, he needs far more opposition. Eventually he and his hapless army will fall. It cannot happen too soon.

PTP were trying to get a 2.2 trillion loan which they'd administer off the books, no checks and balances and no parliamentary scrutiny. When people questioned their intrepid leader Yingluck said "just trust us" 555! Dip your bread in boys!! Only it never came off, just like the proposed scam to get Thaksin back with all his crimes, past and present and granted immunity. Those who took full advantage of the situation have seemingly fixed their immunity and now getting a very large trough to control. How that jealousy must eat away at them! And you think this is in the people's interest 5555555555555555555!

The junta didn't bother with any debate, they just gave themselves total immunity for ALL acts past, present and future. And you complain about Thaksin and praise the junta government. They stole the whole country, treasury and all. 1
