I just watched the video of the arrest of the news crew.

The kind of thing we might expect in nations run by dictators, now at home in Trump’s USA.

A direct attack on the first Amendment.

Utterly disgusting.

Hog Wash! Nothing to do with Trump. This has happened under other administrations (e.g. Rodney King's U%$^%$^&%) and will continue to do so.

The opposite. They even asked the police where they would like them to move to. Not once did the police say anything.   You can't spout your Trumpian fake news this time, its all there live

Rubbish, they wanted to get arrested, to manipulate useful idiots.  They repeatedly ignore officer directions to move.

We do remember. We also remember how it was resolved.

Minnesota is one of the more woke places in the entire USA. It's the Sweden of America. So it is laughable when they try to pin it on conservatives.

Not a fan of the "woke" term but have to agree...

Getting back to the actual topic I am watching the Press Conference at the moment. The Governor was spitting  feathers, followed by the (black- but that's immaterial) Attorney General and the National Guard general is on now. They all come across extremely well, unlike the idiot going on about shooting looters. If the Gov ran for President at the moment he'd wipe the floor with others IMHO. Gov was specifically angry about the treatment of the media team.

As an aside what is with the signers- I'm sure they make it up half the time. This one could win a gurning competition (the photo is from a different press conference).

So, what was the original topic?

Minnesota is run by liberals and it was a local arrest. Donald Trump has nothing to do with it.

I don't have a problem with this statement.  Law and order must prevail and business owners not left to the mercy of the dregs of society.

Protests are certainly in order, but outright lawlessness isn't tolerable.

I note that many MN businesses have their own heavily-armed vigilante guardians.  I wish we had similar laws in the UK.

There are certain elements of US society that try to use "protester", "rioter" and "protester" interchangeably. Or at the very least, they try to blur the line. Most of us who simply call things and people what they are simply want the facts.

Watch this space... Trump might see this (like everything) as an opportunity for political point scoring.

Trump swore an oath to uphold and protect the Constitution, inclusive of the First Amendment, which coincidentally he has been referring to these past few days.

Let’s see how or if he responds.

Local arrest in a liberal city and state. Trump literally has nothing to do with it.

He gave press breifing at the White House this afternoon. He bashed China, Promoted coal energy and made no mention of Minneapolis, or the rioting whatsoever.

Oh, he’s not the POTUS and Minnesota isn’t in the US.

Who knew?!

The old ‘I take no responsibility at all’ joker in the pack.

He never had anything to do with armed protestors storming State Capital buildings, or armed Nazis marching in US streets but in both instances he had something to say about ‘good people’.

The arrest of news crews and the attack on the First Amendment is of national importance.

Yep, refused to take questions and flounced.

Perhaps law and order broke down when a police officer killed a man in custody who was clearly no threat and did so with impunity in front of a camera.

Which makes it  just fine to go  out and smash the place up and steal anything you  like. Let's  face it many of the protesters are the lowest form of  life.

Trump made fun of the Mayor of Minneapolis for allowing Rioting in his city. I am wondering if he will do the same tomorrow to Houston? and Miami? and Cleaveland?

Never said that and don't believe that. It's still a local issue. Donald Trump literally has nothing to do with it. Making a straw man argument does not forward your argument.

Uh... nothing to do with Trump. Both the Mayor of Minneapolis and the Governor of the state of Minnesota are far-left Democrats

With Trump's attacks on the media and his deleted tweets about shooting the looters, this is Trump related.

I'm afraid now it's about creating the most damage as a badge of honor.
