Netizens angry after Anutin caught breaking own social distancing rules

Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has become the focus of netizens’ anger after he and his entourage flouted social distancing rules while eating at a restaurant.

 

Photos of the minister and his party of 10 sitting close to each another over the meal have gone viral, prompting social media users to criticise Anutin for ignoring measures set by his own ministry.

 

The photos were taken on May 20 and posted along with a message – presumably by the restaurant owner – expressing gratitude to Anutin for visiting the restaurant.

 

A Facebook page named “Seal Psychiatrist” pointed out that while the Public Health Ministry has been emphasising the importance of the social distancing measures, its leader failed to do so.

 

The page noted that people learn how to behave from role models, and chided Anutin for failing in his duty to set an example for others.

If it was another Minister, them maybe the flack would not be so heavy.

There must be about 20 of these " Officials "in total pigging out around those 2 tables

Given his attitude up to now, I can see the press conference:

"Of course we were sitting together. Do you even think there's a remote chance I or any of my staff would be susceptible to contracting that common working man's disease, Covid?"

Yet another example of "you do what I say and I'll do what I want" which is so prevalent amongst the bought positioned folk.

To be fair, all those health department people are way in the wrong and show what hypocrites they all are, but just so happens the head buffoon is sitting at the pole position on the table. Shame on them all... Time to open up all the bars now!

I have heard from many Thais they are waiting patiently to bring this crowd of crooks down - anger has been brewing for weeks and this just infuriates them more 

 

Any Thais I speak to detest this man and everything he stands for - insulting western foreigners being one of them because they know were their income mostly comes from..............us

Easily explained this .. He was there testing his eyesight .. 

I don't understand all the commotion in here. He is perfectly safe, there are no dirty covid farangs in the photo.

i for one am ready to forgive him. he must be under a mountain of stress can you blame the guy for wanting to sit down to a lovely dinner. besides they all checked their temperatures and used hand sanitizer so all is good.

He is one of the most ignorant men in the nation, heading up the Ministry of Health. It is a sheer miracle Thailand survived Covid, with him at the helm of that department. He has no background in health, and more than likely your average tractor mechanic has an infinitely greater amount of knowledge about the field of health that this utter incompetent. He is a bottom of the barrel appointment, who should have been replaced once the first few cases were confirmed. 

 

But, he is an army appointee, so he is not only above the law, any and all laws, he is protected against any act of foolishness and malfeasance.

There is  no danger Covid-19 in Thailand is essentially over. Time to stop the balderdash.
