Breaking his long silence about speculation that he might be elected the new leader of the ruling Palang Pracharat party, Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan told the Thai media today that he is not ready to take the job.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that he is not involved in politics within the Palang Pracharat party, which he insisted is a matter for party members.

However, he is qualified to lead the Chiang Rai province boy scout group. Better there, than leading the nation, on any level. The fact that he is deputy PM boggles the mind.

All this talk about political parties is only window dressing, remember, power comes from the barrel of a gun and who do you think has his finger on the trigger.

He will be ready soon.

He just needs to dye his hair, and hide his watch collection.

to appear too ambitious. During Caesar's time, Romans distrusted people with absolute power.

Caesar refused the the crown three times.

How many more offers before you'll accept it, then Prawit?

so he formally accepts the party leader status today then. announcement to follow in the coming days to weeks.

I guess he finally accepted that his prime is gone.

This had to be the juntas dirty little full control plan all along. PPP and Uttmama just got duped and now has no choice with as it looks like were given a back door ultimatum of you will do or you will not like the what will happen.

Oh stop it, please, "Dah Farang", now you made me hope there could be some Brutus around sharpening a knife...

Couldn't it be that he'd like to make sure there will still be a PPRP by the end of this month...?

is any of them qualified to lead a country?

look at the meltdown for 58 deaths in 4 months

Ask him again after the nap. This country is doomed with its dinosaurs - just waiting for Chavalit Yongchaiyuth to "offer" his services to the government.

Politicians and pampers should be changed very regularly - for the same reason!

Only here could a man in his mid 70s that has been photographed on many occasions sleeping during government meetings be tipped to become a party leader.

The watch they offered wasn't good enough to tempt him in the overall package!

Anyway, time will tell.

This disgusting man have no qualms about lying his whole life. He crave for power and has inexhaustible appetite. To believe him is to believe Prayut's 'promise' that he will not stage a coup.
