Win Xp On Sony Psp

Featured Replies

my son has installed WIN XP on his PSP and everything works great, Internet, MSN etc. by using our WiFi router.

his mem stick is getting full and he would like to keep some stuff on his PC (which is on our LAN) for easy access using WiFi rather than USB.

we can't find any option on his Win XP for PSP to set it up for a network (LAN) connection.

does anybody have some info about this?

Not entirely sure, but my brother has a psp, and state of the art audio visual hook up to his home computer.

He had issues getting his psp connected (wifi or otherwise).

When he did some research on it, it was made apparent that PSP has certain restrictions in this department.

The reason, apparently, is due to the fact that many users would then have PSP--) PC ---) wide screen tv capabilities, and SONY would have problems selling their normal Playstation.

So AKAIK it isn't possible.

Others are likely to know more about this than I, though.

regards,

kayo :o

netfs is what you should be looking at.....(allows files to be transfered to and from the psp via wifi)

But XP on a PSP - please explain the method? using bochs or something? - you sure it's not just a frontend or something ?

OK, sorry I was taken in by my son's proud announcement that he downloaded Win XP for his PSP, and it looks very good too!

here is the link from where he downloaded it from:

I think this explains it all.

That looks like an old version of WINPXP - 3.7 is the current one... (4.0 is currently in beta)

It's basically locally stored web pages, with flash games that you can use the PSP web browser to bring up. Some of the web pages do useful things that almost turn your PSP into a PDA. (and the XP bit is that the web pages have an XP look and feel).
