New York Times opinion editor resigns after column controversy as Trump slams paper

May I remind the active defenders of freedom of speech of Mr. Cotton, what he demanded in his horrible drivel!

He called for sending in the army, to take away the freedom of speech from protesters of whom A VERY FEW are committing acts of looting - and they might not even be "real" protesters!

Just a little bit of food for thought, next time you start crying about some facist a- hole demands freedom of speech!

It's always YOUR freedom of speech you bitch and moan about!

Not at all.   Tom Cotton is a racist senator from Arkansas.  The fact that he wants the US army to control the state is understandable, if repugnant, to the majority of americans.

  • This report tends to support the understanding that the news we read has to reflect the opinion of the vocal minority. Send in the troops to quell the out of control looting seems a logical suggestion

Censorship pure and simple. The NYT is a dying far left newspaper that does yeoman's work for the lunatic fringe.

I feel very sorry for this guy. Allows a non-pc op-ed and has to leave. The claws of the pc liberals will censor anything and everything they don't agree with. I used to think I was a liberal but now I loathe them.

Seems like the right hates liberals and liberals hate the right. All well and good. But whose Grammar Nazi wrote that the New York Times IS fake news? How can a paper be fake news?

Beautiful.  One of the best examples of "whataboutery" i've ever seen on ThaiVisa.  And that's really saying something!

Thank you for recognising that Trump is not perfect and that in the next 4 months there will be a whole lot more deception, part truths, fake news and lies coming from his fingers.

More heads will roll, more people will quit and more truths will be called fake news by Trump because he is starting to understand what a poor leader he is. I have to admire the strengths of his belief in himself as very few other people really believe in him.

How refreshing to find an absolutely clear example of "fake news"!!!!

The circulation of the NYT in January 2019 was 483,000!!!!!!!!

https://www.statista.com/statistics/184682/us-daily-newspapers-by-circulation/

This statistic (admittedly over a year ago) was extremely easy to find.

Or were you really trying to say that you have heard somewhere (CNN?  CNBC? ) that as many as 13 people get to read a single issue of the NYT?!!!

https://www.google.co.th/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2020/05/06/business/media/new-york-times-earnings-subscriptions-coronavirus.amp.html

it was easy to find-from May 8th ????????????
