THAI boxing legend Wanheng Menayothin, who officially topped Floyd Mayweather’s 50-0 undefeated record, has performed a dramatic retirement U-turn.

The 34-year-old - known as the 'Dwarf Giant' - quit the ring on Sunday with a superb record of 54-0 after beating Simphiwe Khonco via unanimous decision.

Mayweather retired in 2017 after overtaking legendary heavyweight Rocky Marciano's record by beating UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

Marciano had made it to 49-0 in 1955 and 62 years later, Money took the crown of boxing's best stats.

But WBC minimumweight champ Menayothin leapfrogged Mayweather by taking his record to 51-0 in August 2018.

Bet he doesn't get offered a ludicrous contract to box dance with a UFC guy for 12 rounds though.

(I think Mayweather and McGregor have both sent out "feelers" to see if there'd be any money in a rematch but judging by the lack of hype, it seems interest has waned.)

Big fish in a small pond.  Talented fighter but insane comparing him to Floyd who cleaned out every top fighter in half a dozen divisions on the biggest stage.  Love him or hate him, Floyd is the best fighter since Sugar Ray Robinson and certainly top 5 all time.  Marciano also a great fighter, but only defended the title 7 times, and should have been DQd in the first fight against Jersey Joe Walcott for hitting him whilst on the ground.

In spite of the fact that  towards the end of his career he lost quite a few bouts (and he wasn't even that old yet when his incredible winning streak suddenly and inexplicably came to an end), the greatest of them all for me is Roy Jones Jr. Nobody dominated his opponents like him, with an incredible speed and power he played with every one of them. With his offensive style more fun to watch than the rope-a dope tactic of big mouth Money Floyd.

Love RJJ too.  Remember that KO of Glen Kelly when he threw with his hands behind his back?  Freakish.  His DQ to Montel Griffin was the only loss in his first 50, and that was identical to Marciano hitting Walcott late.  Avenged that loss easy in the rematch.  Like you say, never looked the same guy in any of the Tarver fights, and only chased the money after that.  I got Floyd ahead of him all the same, down to the caliber of opponents.  Not saying RJJ didn't fight top guys, just that Floyd fought more of them.
