Europe isn't over the virus, these bubbles will be Asian countries first and they are the biggest sector of tourists to Thailand. We in Europe can all mingle together apart from Sweden. I don't know how long you want to go there for, but I really can't see these packages being for 2 or 3 months, couple of weeks and get another lot in.

If I go to one of these destinations rather than our home, maybe I won't have to do quarantine? I guess that this is only for packaged tours, probably only from countries who are deemed low risk, you are not allowed to leave the island and have to fly out of Thailand after your holiday.

You usually take a bus to get to an island? Phuket and Samui both have airports. There is regular ferry service to Tao, Phangan and Phi Phi from these islands. Popular Post spidermike007
For what? To whom? Samui is a ghost town. Many of the shops and restaurants have closed. Many hotels are barely hanging on. Samui, Phangan and Dark Tao have never attracted many domestic tourists because of the local pirate pricing. Why now? And international arrivals are going to take a very long time to come back. Here are some current images of Samui and Swampy. It is not a pretty picture. 3

I think you are just changing the science to suit your own narrative. There still is no consensus that those who have been infected will retain immunity long term so its still very much a hypothetical that herd immunity can even be achieved. Its still way to early to think that its still over for places like New York or Sweden. You're quite right, twisting the science to fit his own narrative that does not stand up to basic scrutiny. Not just for the points you have mentioned but also why will is Sweden and New York now "done with it"? Both countries took entirely different approached to tacking the virus and both have different levels of population density. London for example is a very busy city, and people travel a long way to get to and from work, it is common for people to live in the suburban towns and commute into the city so lots of movement in trains, buses and cars.

Popular Post habuspasha
10 hours ago, PingRoundTheWorld said: The idea that herd immunity has to be at 60% and up to get any results is completely false. Think about it for a moment - who are those 6% who already got it? They are the people most likely to get it because they have the most contact with other people. There are significant portions of the population that have less contact with others who wouldn't get it even if they're not immune. Think elderly, kids who stay at home, stay at home moms, unemployed basement dwellers, and anybody who self-isolates. In reality you need closer to 20-30% to get herd immunity as the virus will just die out if it can't feed on the population most likely to get it. In places like New York and Stockholm they're basically done with it - it's dying out - and it's not due to "social distancing", it's due to the fact most active people already had it. There won't be a "second wave" there. For the rest of the world - yes - a second wave is coming and there will be a third and a fourth if they don't just let it runs it's course. As an elderly New Yorker, I can assure you that neither the city nor the state has attained herd immunity, which is fortunate because the result would be devastating. We have managed to reduce the spread by wearing masks and social distancing, thanks to city and state administrations that can be trusted to follow the science and tell the truth. 2

Popular Post Silent Number
As usual the hare brain comments made by some posters on here are absolute rubbish. One even quoted Sweden as prime example of why we shouldn’t social distance, lockdown or wear a mask.what utter stupidity. Sweden’s death rate is 12% for that feeble minded person that’s 12 persons in 100 DEAD you trying to convince me they all had some preexisting condition. But keep posting that dribble it’s good for a laugh. 2

As usual we don't know the untested ones so the real rate is lower than 7%. As of yesterday 200 new cases and 12 deaths on 30th of June. RR2020
Median age of Covid death in Europe is 83 years old. Median age of Covid death in USA is 82 years old The disease has no serious medical implications for over 99% of the worlds population. Do we shut down for the 1% ? As Covid deaths go past 500,000 and slowly rise - REMEMBER - Tuberculosis kills circa 2 MILLION people every year. Influenza kills circa 650,000 people every year. Facts that too many people are so willing to ignore to ramp up fear. And both of those death rates are WITH vaccine.........were there no TB vaccine and no Flu vaccine its likely combined they would be killing upwards of 5 MILLION a year. A few days ago the headlines were 2nd wave in China, 2nd wave in Korea....................now thats not happened they all are quiet again. The media is driving the fear, the reality is very different.
