Exactly mate!

these things happen

just because they havent happened to others doesnt mean they do not happen at all.

some people are just blind.

Some people don't go out much.

Some people can't be bothered.

Some people don't check their bills.

Some people are too rich to care.

Some people are cowardly.

Oi vey. 21 pages on a 50 baht price increase and a belligerent manager. Far too much time in folks hands methinks.

I agree. This is retarted, what the hell????  40 baht and a misunderstanding causes internet traffic jam.  Imagine if it was 1 bht,  cars would be burned and cops would be shot by farang...place would look like the rioting in the US.  Military would be called in.

maybe next time you take a picture of the promotion on your phone

do it all the time when I go to villa market with them "special" prices..saves you a trip for checking and arguing

anyway, bars are NOT ESSENTIAL, so they can close it again or forever all I care

Just thought I'd like to mention this is post #332 over a bar we aren't allowed to mention name/location of. I haven't bothered reading the previous 331 posts.

BritManToo said the beer was only Bt.35.00, maybe  he could share the name of the bar.

He never said the beer to be purchased in a bar. Only the cost is 35 bht, could be in a mom pop market.

I stopped at an outdoor place on 2nd road in patts to perhaps meet up some friends, a small heinekin was 150 bht, man hoo wee

If you don't think about price, you're a fool!

Now ask me what I think of people who pay 190bht for a 35bht beer?

i said "worry" not think

when i did used to drink
it was simple
put money in your pocket for the night
be happy if you wake up with any change
only people that constantly look at such small details and complain about them
are those who have a habbit to maintain
so again
if you need to WORRY about the price, obviously you are not earning enough (to maintain the lifestyle you desire)

as for 190 baht for 35 baht beer........
first OP was drinking pints, 35 baht is small bottles
beer has also not been named, he also received 2 pints
plus, you are not solely paying for the beer but the service and establishment environment

now ask me what i think of people who pay 32 baht for 28 baht wine coolers........????

You sound like you enjoy having a p**s taken out of you.

hope you get ripped off big time in the near future. You definitely deserve it!

in a nutshell they don,t want you in their country.

Not really,

they want us, providing we abide to their rules.

I do it for 20 years now.

Once I considered it as too much, I will buy a one-way ticket.

I went out Friday night, and at one place I noticed the cocktails are now more ice and less drink. A few days earlier, at a Mexican place, the burritos have gotten smaller. I was fully expecting there to be attempts at compensating for the Covid losses. They've been hurting. I'll happily support them. I've even been tipping more.

What a silly, ignorant comment.

it is not ignorant, if you do worry about a price when spending money
then really it means you would be better off not making that purchase
as you may be trying to live beyond your means, hence you experience worry.

why would i need to care about 50 baht, even if i was ripped off
if i earn enough to give myself a daily "spending" budget of say 5000 baht
and i got all i wanted that day

if you are too ignorant to budget, you will always be counting pennies,
and living with the stress of doing so

as i mentioned to Britmandolt
you put money for the day/night in your pocket
and be happy if you wake up with any change
or
be a grumpy miser with no friends????‍♂️

I hang out in Pattaya and Thonglor (Bangkok )

Same beer, different kind of places, different people, different prices.

You are a mug.

rich or not, a man that does not look after his finances is and always will be a mug,

i bet you are the kind of guy who accepts the first price when shopping arent you?

do you know the meaning of the word haggle?

here is the ad-homien
sounds like you do not even budget your spending............
i look after my finances by separating money i plan to spend from money i invest
i do not think the purchase of alcohol is a necessity for your income

i also do not haggle as it is not worth my time,
there is a price, either i pay it and get what i want,
or i dont pay it and dont get what i want
my time is worth more than standing somewhere arguing over a few baht at each and every purchase

Then if that is the case then show that to the manager.. seems strange you did not do that before. Porkies perhaps ?

Yes. Few months ago OP made a big declaration about having sold everything, including his phone & computer, and was moving to an island to lead a Castaway-style existence. Then they magically reappeared and he claimed he couldn't go anywhere. Then he wouldn't explain why he couldn't just live like a castaway in Bangkok. ???? No credibility.
