Pawpal
Possible to extend stay on APEC card without leaving? By Stuck01, March 17 in Thai visas, residency and work permits Rate this topic Currently in Thailand with a Hong Kong-issued APEC card (US Passport). The stamp in my passport expired in June and was able to remain due to the amnesty. With the current uncertainty, does anyone know if it's possible to extend an APEC visa while still in Thailand? Also, any recommendations for a good visa agent/agency, preferably in Bangkok, would be greatly appreciated.
ubonjoe
There is no normal extension of a entry from a APEC card. You may be able to apply for a 30 day special extension with a letter from your embassy if the amnesty ends.
Pawpal
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, according to the US Embassy website: The U.S. Embassy will no longer provide extension of stay requests. Any recommendations for visa agents to explore visa possibilities not requiring exiting Thailand?
Jeffrey346
My friend is on an APEC visa. KK IMM told him he is good till the 31 July. If the boarders remain closed, there will most likely be another extension. Once the boarders open, he will need to do a boarder run.
Johnny Q
I have the same situation. I think there is a way because neither closing land borders nor TG can fly.
snow flurry
I'm in the same boat. I was told by Chiang Mai immigration in late May that APEC card holders can apply for an extension at the end of July (if no amnesty extension is announced) and all we'll get is 7 days more, because that's what we would ordinarily get under normal circumstances. And we'd have to pay the usual 1900 baht fee.
