PM defends proposed extension of state of emergency

Amazing, punters on here don't get it. A whopping 200 out of 60 million protested. How stupid does one have to be to not figure out the relevance

The protesters were idiots for Firstly doing it under a state of emergency and secondly without support.

He insisted that the state of emergency is still necessary because the existing laws do not cover some aspects relating to controlling the COVID-10 pandemic,

50+ days of no infections locally, what pandemic?

The only thing he's defending is himself !

Make yourself PM for life like your mate Xi.

And it would be nice for someone to remove that poop eating grin of his face.

Xi is President as well as Head of the PLA and Gen Sec of the CPC none of which have fixed  terms of tenure.

Li Ke Qiang is PM.

You're welcome.

Less than 120 people participated in the Boston Tea Party.  It only took 14% of the US population to evict the British.

Welcome for what? The point the poster was making is that Prayut wants to be leader for life like Xi Jinping is in China. Titles are merely semantics when the relative term means 'leader'.

Do you prefer blood on the streets like 1973?

You should be glad he is not trigger happy like Dutertes in the Philippines...

Rather strange comment considering the blood he hands for ordering the army to open up on unarmed protesters at a temple then when in power persecuted and through in prison the brave nurse who was there helping the wounded and dying, who had the gaul to witness against him.... Yep rather bizarre statement.

I’d prefer the army didn’t resort to killing unarmed protesters, of course. But that’s on the army. Not the protesters.

Should I also be glad he isn’t committing genocide like Xi in China? Is it okay for leaders to do what they like as long as it’s not the worst thing?

"whataboutism" is the only argument they teach in schools in Asia, so expect to have it flung at you by the locals most of the time. I sarcastically love how easily they embrace the slippery slope - jumping off a bridge together is totally fine as long as the other dude skydived.
