    Hmm. With my usual sarcasm I'd suggest if the cameras were 'working' could well depend on how well off or influential the perpetrator is. Therefore expect a day or two wait while the police 'exam

       The passenger, knew exactly where the taxi driver was going and approximate time of arrival.

Yep, that’s what I was getting at, or they watched the guy and followed him, but then they most likely would’ve chosen a different place without witnesses!
