Homeless Bangkok man's "Street Art" goes viral - but what exactly is it?

A Facebook poster living in the Sukhumvit Soi 71 area of Bangkok went online with a post that was widely viewed.

It featured the work of a homeless man who has been drawing something on the sidewalk for days.

Poster "Ker Chayata Ratanapot" said they had noticed the man several days ago and so on a trip to a neighboring soi they had a look at his work and took pictures.

"What the hell is this?" they asked.

Daily News suggested in their caption that it was some kind of street art. In the body of their report they suggested a plan or diagram of some kind.

Netizens commented in droves but were equally mystified. Most people praised the man's artistic merit though some felt it was messing up the cleanliness of the sidewalk and should be stopped.

Daily News said that the same man did a similar thing that was widely reported in 2017.

Here at Thaivisa we can make out a five baht coin; what do you think it all means?

Quite probably just meaningless scribbles , highly unlikely to be anything like Einsteins theory of relativity

A road map to insanity or someone bored out of his tree passing the day

Used to be a small (1sqm) drawing/diagram here and there.  Now it has become over the top with one stretch of 71 covering the whole sidewalk (street to wall) for 100 meters.

Picasso's re-incarnation 555

onset of dementia.

looks like one of those conspiracy theory maps you see in movies or series with all the different events/players connected by lines

It's the government's blueprint to bring back happiness to the Thai people.

At last, the master plan for a storm drainage system that will solve Bangkok,s flooding problems ????

He's been doing those diagrams for years, all over Bangkok - I used to see them (albeit smaller versions) in the Chitlom/Phloenchit area five years ago, and they weren't a new phenomenon even then. They look more like the product of mental illness than artistic inspiration.

If that had been a Farang involved they would have  been given a mop and bucket to clean it up

How did he get the plans for the General's cabinet reshuffle?

Thanks for tracking this down. I watched it a few months ago after it was spotted by Stickman, who has mentioned this man on and off for years. Interesting story.

I used to see him a lot a few months ago in Prakanong. I think he's just working out mental issues given the fact that he tends to shout while drawing.

Bangkok drainage plan.

Do not show it to Tom Hanks or we will have a new film about the road map to some secret treasure or the direction to the next AGM of the Illuminati ...

It's the Thai tree of corruption and will take a lifetime to complete ????

Tourist Authority of Thailand Master Plan.????

6+7 = something weird.

Any way he was obviously abducted by aliens.

The next Banksy, get down there quick and rip up the paving stones, they'll be worth a fortune eventually. The Banksy from Bangkok, has a sort of ring to it. Ha!

I know where he got his inspiration:

It's the equation TAT uses to predict tourist arrival numbers
