Repairs to the top part of a crematorium chimney at the temple of Wat Khon Kha Liap in Nakhon Sri Thammarat in the south of Thailand went disastrously wrong yesterday.

But the locals still found cause to celebrate divine intervention.

A mobile crane had been employed to lift part of the chimney but it proved to be a little too heavy. This caused the crane to topple over.

The crematorium building and a sala or pavilion were damaged.

But remarkably the images of Somdej Prajao Taksin and Lung Poo Thuat were undamaged.

The locals pointed to their sacredness as a reason for this eventuality.

All cranes have overload indicators and audible alarms some even have automatic cut-offs to prevent overload. These devices to not compensate for untrained operators and deliberate bypassing of safety devices. An entirely preventable incident by Somchai.

This Is Thailand. Please  Do not talk Sense. Thais Know what they are doing .

Don't forget that there are Two ways of doing things : The Thai Way ,,,, &,,,, The Right Way.  :jap:
