Study finds 82% of Thais “confident” in reopening tourism sector

As Thailand gradually reopens its borders, new findings from a global study suggests that 82% of Thais are confident that Thailand is well prepared to reopen its tourism and leisure activities, the highest globally. The study also found that tourists from Hong Kong, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, and India are all targeting Thailand as their first destination when their countries’ borders reopen.

For ‘fear’ and ‘possibilities’, there are plenty of both as Thailand and Asia emerge from 6 months of battling and containing Covid-19, with more knowledge and better handling of outbreaks.

Two Pattani bombing suspects killed in shootout with soldiers

Two suspected southern insurgents allegedly involved in the bombing in Pattani’s Nongjik district on Thursday (August 13), which killed one Army bodyguard for local teachers, were killed in a shootout, Maj-General Pramote Phrom-in, chief of staff of the Fourth Army Area and spokesman of Internal Security Operations Command of Fourth Army Area, said on Friday.

Police seize seven motorbikes in ‘stolen collateral’ raid

PHUKET: Police have arrested a motorbike repair shop owner north of Phuket Town for possession of a stolen motorbike and seized seven other motorbikes. The motorbike repair shop owner claims he did not know the motorbike was stolen, saying it was accepted as collateral for a loan given to one of his customers.
