Municipal Official Attacked at Tops Supermarket

The Pattaya Police was informed at about 1.00 am on 25th April that a shooting occurred in front of Tops Supermarket, 2nd Road and someone was injured.

However, on arrival the police could not find any gun shot victim. The only injured person at the scene was Mr. Phakon aged 21, a Municipal Official, who had face wounds as if he had been hit with something hard.

After returning from the hospital Mr. Phakon stated that recently his girlfriend got to know the girlfriend of “Hua” the head of the motorbike taxis in front of Tops.

Somehow when he talked to his girlfriend’s friend, it made Hua unhappy and on that day Hua fired two gunshots at him, but missed so Hua walked over and hit him with the gun.

The police do not quite believe the statement since there were no witnesses who saw or heard any gunshots. No bullet shells were found at the scene, and if both men were standing so close to each other; how could he miss two gunshots?

The police are now searching for Hua for more questioning.

how about police background checks for motorbike taxi drivers before they're allowed an offical vest? they seem to interact with the public a fair bit. and also get into their share of trouble with beatings, shootings and sexual assaults of passengers. sorry, that would make too much sense. :o
