Obviously if it starts immediately the later the better.

Has anyone done this please?

I notice Sep 26th is a weekend so Sep 25 looks like very latest opportunity to get extension to visit wife.

According to the immigration notification it should start on September 27th. But it can still depend upon what your local office does.

Reports so far indicate it will start from the day of application. This is against immigrations earlier announcement that all extensions would start on the 27th. This was said to avoid a last minute rush by people leaving it as late as possible.

I was at Petchabuns immigration office last week and I was told the extension would be from the day of application . I strongly advise contacting your own local immigration for their line on this since they all seem to be a law unto themselves.

Don't trust anything you read online. Best not to chance anything and go in person to inquire.

Thanks all , yes I guess I'll have to go and see what they say.

From what I understand it is issued on the spot so would 23RD of September be too late, It's the Wednesday following the last scheduled cabinet meeting before the so called "Grace period " expires.

My motive for delay is I still have a Non O MULTI  which I can use for a border bounce once a border is practicable, i.e. no quarantine or insurance required, just in and out quickie?
