I came to Thailand on Tourist Visa in March, 2 months+ amnesty...

Didn't apply for 1 month visa extention.

Can I do it now? Will I need a letter from the Embassy or any kind of other special docs?

If I can, will it possible to get 2 months Marriage visa after that (I'm married Thai national)? So I will have 3 months

Or I better should start from Marriage visa?...

You cannot apply for a visa at immigration unless you 400k baht in a Thai bank or proof of 40k baht income.

I assume you mean a 60 day extension of stay to visit your wife.

You should be able to apply for a 30 day extension of your 60 day entry from a tourist visa and then the 60 day extension near the end of it. No need for a letter from you embassy.

Anyone knows when I can leave Thailand? I came on 26 February 2020, and since the lock down until now I am stuck here.

Today 28 August(friday) I went to Bangkok train station to ask for train to Penang (Malaysia). They said no train to Penang only to Hatyai.

When is the government going to open the border for people to go to Malaysia?

That is unknown at this time.

If they opened the border to Malaysia you would not be able to enter unless you are a citizen or legal resident of Malaysia at this time.

You can leave Thailand any time, you just need to find a country which lets you in. If you are from Malaysia, contact the Malaysian embassy regarding how to get into Malaysia.

@Ubonjoe do you know if money in a thai bank will be accepted even if it's in another currency such as USD (not yet converted to THB)? But in the bank statement it's listed as total balance in THB & that's well above 400k so might that perhaps work? Citibank if it matters ????

Secondly any chance the initial 60 days extension can be gotten without bringing the wife/child? Perhaps by use of agency?

Lastly is any amnesty extension ruled out by this time (after 26SEP)?

If relevant I'm at ChiangMai with valid multi O but could go anywhere 'more friendly' if needed. Tried to ask around with agents everybody only pushing volunteer/ED/Martial art 6/12 months packages!!

Thanks a million ????

If you have foreign currency account at a bank registered in Thailand it will be accepted if the balance is equal to or greater than 400k baht.

Not unless you wife or child were unable to travel with you to immigration due to medical problems.

You could apply for a 30 day extension with a letter from your embassy.

I cannot even venture a guess as to whether the ministerial notice will be extended beyond September 26th if that is what you mean.

You have to apply for extensions at the designated office for where you are living. You cannot pick and choose which office you apply at.

Thanks Ubon so I got the money part covered but hard to get a medical for the family as they are 'stuck' in Europe but I suppose this odd case wont be catered to anyway & requirement to hunt down documents around the amphur which only thai people can get will still be required im sure ????
I'll bet 25% that this amnesty will again be extended if the emergency decree is extended through October too ????
And come oct/nov some initial/grey zone border run options will materialize ~50%

Your Thai family members must be here to get a 60 day extension to visit them.
