Fiance visa for UK

Featured Replies

I have decided to get married in the UK to my Thai girlfriend so have applied for a fiance visa I want to submit my supporting documents here in the UK I've paid for the visa but I'm not sure how she can do her biometrics as she is in Thailand do I submit my documents first then mak an appointment or do the biometrics before I submit my docs any one done this before could do some advice

She has to make an appointment to visit the Visa Application Centre in Asoke to have her biometric details captured, once she has submitted her application.

EDIT - It would seem she has already submitted her application, she should make an appointment to have her biometirc details cpatured. https://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/th/en/vacs/bangkok

She can upload her documents herself or pay for VFS to do so at the Application Centre.

If you have any supplemetary documents that she wishes to submit you can either upload them yourself or post them to be scanned, there is an additional fee. https://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/th/en/vacs/supporting-documents

You must provide a colour photocopy of the identifying pages of your girlfriends passport, in addition to the document checklist from her GOV.UK application.

You won't have her biometric details, they are sent electronically by VFS to the UKVI.

She should have been given the opportunity to make an appointment when she submitted her online application, together with details of whats required. Off the top of my head I'm not sure what she'll need to take, certainly her passport and a copy of her application and maybe originals of evidence she's actually submitting herself or already uploaded.

I would be inclined to suggest that you upload your docs first before she has her biometic details captured first, but but I'm not really sure, just make sure you send a copy of her passport and her application number with any supplementary documents you're submitting on her behalf.

I would submit your docs now as I have a feeling that once she's had her bio details captured nothing more can be added, I don't know for sure though.

She should make her appointment as soon as she can, she will undoubtably be providing supporting evidence of her own, even if she's already uploaded them herself, VFS staff may ask to see the the originals, so it would be better to have them with her, of course she will need to take her passport, which they will retain.

I think youre right once biometrics take place you can't add or at least I couldn't. Despite receiving a mail from Sheffield UKVI saying they had received my wife's docs and I had 5 days to add anything further but when I went to look, the option was disabled.
