So....um ......did he have to employ someone to hump his wife ?

Realistically: you’re growing stuff in your own garden.... it has nothing to do with employment. Carry on enjoy, feel free to paint your house while waiting for your veggies and chillies to grow !!!! If you want to do anything, anything at all, just do it as long as it is not detrimental to the ordinary people.

Popular Post Peterw42
I have shared this story before but its always a good one when the topic of work comes up. A couple of years ago, wife and I had a small restaurant in Bangsean (40k nth of Pattaya). In a quiet side street, mostly Thai university student customers. The restaurant was at the front of our house. I used to deliver food to tables, clear tables, make drinks etc. Wife never really believed me when I told her I shouldn't be doing any work. It was so quiet and out of the way, never worried that much about working. Fast forward and we had the restaurant up for sale. Wife says to me one day "a guy is interested in the restaurant and coming to look tonight with some friends ". Didnt think much of it, maybe tidied up a little. Later that evening and we were a little busy, so I was clearing tables, serving etc. A silver mini-bus pulls up and out hops 7 immigration police in full uniform, To say I sh*t myself is an understatement. In a mad panic I ran into the kitchen telling the wife immigration is here. Her response was "thats the guy I told you about this morning" I went on to explain to wife not to mention that I do any work, I wont be able to do anything while they are here etc. So after the introductions were made, the very first thing my wife says to the immigration guys (apron on, hands on hips) "my husband says he isnt allowed to do any work, is this true" I swear it took 5 minuets for the immigration guys to stop laughing. The boss of the immigration guys turned to me and said, "you have to help your wife. The immigration guys stayed to eat, so I spent the rest of the evening delivering food and drinks, clearing tables for a table full of immigration guys. footnote, they stayed late and I ended up very drunk, they didnt buy the restaurant. poloshirt
Is this a country where people snoop on you and report on you? If this is true then these people really haven't got better things to do. They wouldn't spend their time to improve themselves so they may have some financial gains. Instead they spy on you, report you and take delight in seeing you get into trouble? Disgusting. Just small minded, useless people. Let me just ask a simple question. If I find my neighbor spying on me, would it be ok if I pull my short so low that my buttocks are showing. Not exactly "Moon" them(that's the slang for display of buttocks), but mind you, I am within my private residence so you cannot say I expose myself can you? So if I grow my own foods it is considered working is it? Just too many wavkers in this country.

Peterw42
In 6-8 years reading Thaiisa, I am yet to see a genuine and first hand account of anyone being arrested, fined etc for washing their own car, working on their house, growing vegetables, helping wife load the car etc etc. Without fail, there is always more to the story. What initially comes up as "I got arrested for <insert trivial task here>, always, without fail, turns out to be something more. Its usually something like, I got arrested for driving friends to the airport, in reality it turns out the guy had a minivan and was doing daily tours and airport drops. Its one of those myths that has taken on a life of its own.

pi2005ni
There would be absolutely no problem in a bit of gardening on your own property. And in my opinion you quite right in checking it out . It’s not a matter of being paranoid, its a matter of being smart and ensuring you operate within the laws in the country you live .
