So, why complain about that? I mean income letter??? What possible need can you have? If the money is there, then just show them. No problem.

No news on the reason to leave or the future of that Scottish fella (Brian), then?

Ambassadors are rotated at regular intervals and no reason need be given.

Brian Davidson is not Scottish, He's from Northern Ireland.

Sir Anthony Rumbold, Thailand, 1967: It is true that they have no literature, no painting and only a very odd kind of music, that their sculpture, their ceramics and their dancing are borrowed from others and that their architecture is monotonous and their interior decoration hideous.

Nobody can deny that gambling and golf are the chief pleasures of the rich and that licentiousness is the main pleasure of them all.

But it does a faded European good to spend some time among such a jolly, extrovert and anti-intellectual people

I don't use the income method so am not complaining. Some people have money transferred every quarter or 6 monthly, others with monthly transfers that do not show as a foreign exchange...not everyone needing the income letter did it for nevarious reasons.

Then all those people have to realize that they do not decide what is the right way for the possibility to stay in a foreign country and either show a lump sum or transfer every month with a FTT transfer code or equivalent. How hard can it be? Nah, it's much easier to blame you embassy than do the work needed. ????

Nah, it was much easier just to obtain an income letter from the Embassy, as most other Europeans do.

There is a usual term of 3 years for all diplomatic posts. 55

Better than people with no interest or access to the British Embassy wasting time posting fables about what doesn't affect them!

It does affect me. It seriously hurt to see all the posts on a yearly basis.

Why not submit your CV as suggested elsewhere so that you can show everyone in wireless road how it's done?

Only Thais need apply.

Let's see if he can do something useful and reinstate the income letters. If he does that he'll get immediate respect, if he doesn't it will be jobs for the boys and all that

What are you saying. Are there a population of foreigner that can´t show their income on Wireless Road? How can my CV help them?

And please point me in the direction where you say it was mentioned to submit any CV somewhere? The only thing in this thread was a respectful post that told the new ambassador had an impressive CV.

Hope he will be better than the present one somehow I doubt it ☹️

They aren't necessary. A 12 month local bank printout will suffice at a cost of 400 bhat.

I find that a monthly transfer via Transferwise is much easier.

it would avoid all the jumping through unnecessary hoops of monthly payments around the same date

Yep, that´s what I am trying to state. Transferwise is one of the options. Good rate and very quick. No need for income letters.
