Trump and Biden clash over Western wildfires as blazes become election issue

The Clinton admin made changes to forest land management leading to the current issues plaguing forests in CA and the pacific northwest. No evidence exists that global environmental conditions are responsible. Better and adaptive forest management is required. Some smart foresters from Scandinavia and Canada need to sit down with Trump and it will get sorted out.

The democrat solutions (lack of sln's) include pouring gasoline on a fire attitude and actions, which are wreaking destruction everywhere they infect the country.

  • Almost a new low for Biden calling Trump a climate arsonist but we all know the depths he can sink to. I wonder if Biden was speaking from the basement again?

Of course it's Trumps fault.  Look at the liberal desperation just on this board, and multiply that nation-wide.  We are witnessing a liberal melt-down. ????

  • It’s disturbing to me that the people living in the northwest and western USA continue to vote for politicians who let their states burn every year from wildfires even after its documented that they’v

Your information is simply wrong.   The Clinton Administration prevented the clear cut logging of old growth forests.  It allowed for controlled logging in some of the national forests and the regulations did extend to all forests.   Selective logging was allowed.   Companies are not interested in anything but clear cut logging.

There was nothing in the regulations which prevented maintaining or managing forests to prevent forest fires.   As a matter of fact, here's what the regulations say:

Carefully controlled logging for instance, thinning of underbrush and small trees could be permitted to reduce the risk of wildfire, protect endangered species habitat, or restore ecosystem health.

This is more Trump bluster to blame someone else.  The Clinton Administration regulations were written to preserve the forests, not to make them at greater risk of being burned down.   Climate Change is making the summers hotter and longer.   This is the hottest summer on record ever for much of CA and for all of AZ.   It is the driest summer ever recorded as well.   Year-on-year, the hot, dry season starts earlier and the rainy season is shorter.   That is Climate Change.

And those who want to deny CC, just look at the records set for hurricanes in the Atlantic, another record, 21 named storms swirling around.
